Virtualization of Technology Environments
Virtualization Technology allows
for customers to support multiple servers on a single
physical server. This allows for consolidation of
enterprise environments.
This means a smaller footprint in a
data center, server room, or server closet and brings lower power consumption, lower
cooling requirements, and increased maintenance and
provisioning capabilities to any sized organization.
A smaller footprint in the data center or server room allows
for a smaller number of physical devices to maintain your
network infrastructure, and a smaller number of physical
hardware components present. This means that
maintenance/support agreements for physical hardware
components will be minimized. This equates directly to
money saved in your budget!
Lower power consumption and lower cooling requirements are
as a direct result of a smaller footprint. But once
again, this means a smaller electric bill, as well as a
lesser need for specialized power circuits to be present in
your data room. A smaller cooling footprint means that
a smaller cooling unit can be purchased for a server/data
room, bringing direct cost savings.
Increased maintenance and provisioning capabilities are a
natural by-product of virtualization. Logical servers
can easily be created by simply creating a server
definition, and copying a template directory for the new
server. Once the setup, configuration, and templates
for guest creation are complete, the provisioning of a new
guest server can be accomplished inside of 15 minutes
(depending on the hardware being used).
Enso Technologies can help to demystify virtualization, and
assist your organization with the implementation of a
partial or full virtualization strategy. We have
established a methodology for virtualization creating
instant savings for small, medium, and large enterprises.
We've worked with Virtualization technologies from
VMWare (a part of EMC),
VirtualIron, and
Virtual
Server and
Hyper-V from Microsoft.
Contact Enso today for assistance with your Virtualization
requirements.
